Fall in
Crested Butte
Stunning. Spectacular. Breathtaking.
You'll grasp for words to describe Crested
Butte's scenery in the fall. Just outside of Crested Butte, Kebler Pass
is reported to have the world's largest grove of aspen, and year after
year it tops the list of Colorado's best scenic fall drives. Mt. Crested
Butte itself usually glows with color, and there are many other nearby
spots with great autumn foliage.
Fall days in Crested Butte are generally
sunny and crisp - great for biking, hiking and exploring.
If you like spectacle, the peculiarly charming September festival "Vinotok"
is a little-known treat. Come for this offbeat harvest celebration with
gaily costumed maidens, the Green Man and The Grump, a participatory
parade and a giant bonfire.
Fall also hosts the Paragon People's Fair,
Colorado Grand Road Rally, and Pearl Pass Mountain Bike Tour among many
others.
