About Crested Butte
The Crested Butte valley is a gem in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Located near the center of Colorado, it is off the beaten path yet accessible from everywhere.
Crested Butte offers a wide variety of recreational activities in all seasons. Plus there's great shopping and dining (no chain restaurants here!). And the list of cultural offerings is incredible for such a true small town.
The area retains its mining era charm and historical Victorian ambiance. It is a world class vacation destination drawing visitors from around the globe to enjoy stunning mountain views, hospitality, sunshine, snow, biking, hiking, skiing, fishing, you name it! Crested Butte was named to the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 2008 Dozen Distinctive Destinations list.
Some years ago there was this advertising slogan: "Crested Butte -- what Aspen used to be, and Vail never was." Aspen and Vail didn't like it much, but it summed things up pretty well. What locals call "The Butte" is widely known as "the last great Colorado ski town."
Ski season is a big draw and there are festivals all year round. Whether you come to Crested Butte in winter, spring, summer or fall, you'll find lots of things to do. It's also a great place to just sit back and relax.
Whatever activities you pursue in Crested Butte, just remember to stay well-hydrated, wear high SPF sunscreen year-round, and, if you're from the flatlands, give yourself some time to adjust to the altitude. The elevation at Ravenwood House in Mt. Crested Butte is about 9300 feet.
About Ravenwood House
Ravenwood House is a vacation home owned and operated by Tom and Bridget, a father/daughter team. Built in late 2004, the 3 bedroom 3.5 bath townhome is the south end unit in the quiet three-unit Castle Creek Townhomes. The two adjoining units are not available for rental.
Tom and Bridget welcome guests to this home-away-from-home thoughtfully decorated in the popular mountain/rustic/luxury style with a Pacific Northwest flair reflecting the family's connection to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Tom and Bridget use the house for visits with extended family in all seasons of the year. Tom, a retired grandpa who loves golf, skiing and sailing, handles reservations and, with Bridget's behind-the-scenes help, ensures every guest has all the info needed for a great stay in Crested Butte.
Julie is our excellent local property manager. She is the best housekeeper in the valley and works hard to ensure that the house is fully supplied and meticulously clean for every guest's arrival. Julie is a longtime local who can help if anything unexpected should arise during your stay.
